The series opener between the Boston Celtics and Brooklyn Nets did not disappoint. In a wild contest that went down to the finish, it was the No. 2 Celtics that prevailed 115-114, thanks to Jayson Tatum’s game-winning layup as time expired. Now up 1-0, Boston will try to defend home court in Game 2 against Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and Co. Wednesday night. The Celtics have seized the momentum in the fourth as they try to take a 2-0 lead.
The Celtics’ home playoff buzzer-beater win was the first in franchise history. Aside from the winning basket, Tatum also finished with 30-plus points for the fourth consecutive postseason game. Irving, who got a bit too involved with Boston fans Sunday, scored 39 points, including 18 in the fourth. Kevin Durant finished with 23 points on 9-of-24 shooting. Brooklyn can steal control of the series with a win, before the teams play Games 3 and 4 at Barclays Center. Here’s how to watch Game 2.
