The Matthew Stafford era in Los Angeles got off to a considerably better start than the Andy Dalton era in Chicago, but the Bears have still managed to keep it close in the first “Sunday Night Football” game of the 2021 NFL season.
Stafford got things started quickly with a 67-yard touchdown pass to Van Jefferson, while Dalton and the Bears turned the ball over on each of their first three possessions — with Dalton responsible for two of those giveaways. The Bears controlled possession for most of the first half (18:19 to the Rams’ 11:41) but could not turn that possession into points for much of the running time.
They finally managed to add a touchdown on their final drive of the first half on a three-yard run by David Montgomery, trimming the L.A. lead to 13-7 at the break.
Can the Bears stage a second-half comeback, or will the Rams capture their first victory of the season? Keep it locked right here at CBS Sports throughout the evening for live updates, analysis and highlights from the second half of “Sunday Night Football.”
